Rules for using individual work cabins/group work rooms at the WUL's Main Reading Room/Free Access 1 and 2

Individual work cabins

  1. Individual work cabins in the Main Reading Room and in the Open Access can be used by WUL Users who have a library/student's ID/employee's ID card, valid and free from any arrears.

  2. Cabins are intended for study or scientific work and cannot be used for other purposes.

  3. All cabins are subjected to a reservation system in accordance with the following rules:

    • User can only book one cabin for the days and/or hours he/she actually intends to use it,

    • holders of short-term cards are provided with cabins for the period of validity of the card,

    • other users are provided with cabins on a basis of renewable pool of hours (up to 240 hours) during the validity period of the library account,

    • in order to use the cabin, please report to the Main Reading Room/Free Access within the first hour of booking the cabin. Failure to report within the specified period is tantamount to resignation from the cabin,

    • in case of reserving the cabin well in advance (over 1 month) User will be asked (via e-mail) to confirm that the reservation is still valid,

    • User who resigns from the cabin on his/her own is obliged to cancel the reservation in the cabin reservation system,

    • the condition for efficient usage of the cabin reservation system is an e-mail address that User provides in the contact details when subscribing to the Library.

  4. Users using the cabins are obliged to report to the librarian during each visit to collect the key to the cabin and leave their library/student's ID/employee's ID card at librarian's desk.

  5. Work in the cabins must be completed no later than 10 minutes before the Library closes, the key must be returned and the library/student's ID/employee's ID card must be collected.

  6. The cabin key collected by the User cannot be made available to another person. Losing a key or damaging a lock must be immediatly reported to the librarian and payment of a fee in accordance with the WUL's price list must be done. Failure to return the key results in temporary suspension of the User's rights to use WUL's services. The Library has spare keys and reserves the right to enter the cabin, even in the absence of its current User.

  7. All cabins are equipped with desks, chairs, shelves for handy materials, lighting and Wi-Fi.

  8. Cabins with numbers CGKPI 1, CGKPI 5-6, CGKPI 17, CGKPI 21–22, WD1KPI 11-12 and WD2KPI 10-11 are equipped with computers workstations with Internet access and basic software for creating and working on your own files, in accordance with with the following rules:

    • ones own files should be placed on your computer's desktop, in a folder called: User Drive (D). WUL is not responsible for the stored data,

    • before finishing using the cabin, one must delete ones own files. Undeleted files will be deleted by a Library employee.

  9. Cabins with numbers: CGKPI 21–22, WD1KPI12 and WD2KPI11 are adapted for the needs of people with special needs: they are equipped with higher desks and computer workstations with Internet access, software that enlarges the text displayed on the monitor or an electronic lector. A Braille keyboard is available upon request.

  10. In the cabins in the Main Reading Room can be used:

    • library materials borrowed to ones library account,

    • library materials ordered to the Main Reading Room or the Current and Archive Periodicals Reading Room (except for cimelia, large-format periodicals and periodicals in poor state of preservation). The user collects and returns materials to the librarian during each visit,

    • library materials from Open Access areas. During each visit, the user collects them oneself and returns them to FA,

    • one's own materials.

  11. In the cabins in the Open Access area can be used:

    • library materials from Open Access areas. During each visit, the user collects them oneself and puts them on designated cart,

    • one's own materials.

  12. User is fully responsible for the library materials and equipment in the cabin and is subjected to the Rules of Collection Circulation in the Wroclaw University Library and the Order regulations in force at the WUL's building.

  13. WUL is not responsible for materials and personal items left in the cabin.

  14. Failure to use the cabin for a week is tantamount to resignation from cabin's reservation. In that case, the cabin will be opened in the presence of Library employees.The library materials left in the cabin will be returned to the relevant WUL departments and removed from the user's account, and the remaining items will be deposited in the Autonomous Section for Administration of Wroclaw University Library.

  15. User's belongings, deposited in the Section for Administration, can be collected after prior appointment within 3 months from the time they were deposited in the Section. After this date, items with an estimated value of over 100 PLN will be transferred to the Municipal Lost and Found Office, and the remaining items - destroyed after one year.

  16. Violation of the above rules by the user or non-compliance with the recommendations of the librarian results in the temporary deprivation of the possibility to use the services of WUL.


Group Work Rooms

  1. Group Work Rooms in the the Open Access can be used by WUL Users who have a library/student's ID/employee's ID card, valid and free from any arrears.

  2. Rooms are intended for study or scientific work and cannot be used for other purposes.

  3. All rooms are subjected to a reservation system in accordance with the following rules:

    • a maximum of 8 people can work in one room at the same time,

    • User can only book one room for the days and/or hours he/she actually intends to use it,

    • Users, excluding holders of short-term cards, are provided with rooms on basis of a renewable pool of hours (up to 240 hours) during the validity period of the library account,

    • in order to use the room, please report to the Free Access area within the first hour of booking the room. Failure to report within the specified period is tantamount to resignation from the room,

    • in case of reserving the room well in advance (over 1 month) User will be asked (via e-mail) to confirm that the reservation is still valid,

    • User who resigns from the room on his/her own is obliged to cancel the reservation in the cabin reservation system,

    • the condition for efficient usage of the room reservation system is an e-mail address that User provides in the contact details when subscribing to the Library.

  4. Users using the rooms in the Free Access area are obliged to report to the librarian during each visit to collect the key to the room and leave their library/student's ID/employee's ID card at librarian's desk.
