In 1959 the project of photographic catalog that will be based on photocopies of front pages with additional bibliographic information has been created. That kind of catalog should speed up processing of old prints collection and in the same way allows readers to access them.

Content
Partially subjected Photographic catalog includes:
1) collections from former City Library in Wroclaw (this Library was created in 1865 after merging three evangelic public collections from churches of: St. Elizabeth, St. Mary Magdalene and St. Bernard – detailed information on home page of Old Prints Department).
2) prints from 17th century from form Wroclaw University Library and from restricted collections (without prints from 17th century originating from historical libraries),
3) prints from 18th century from form Wroclaw University Library and from restricted collections (without prints from 18th century originating from historical libraries).

Description
Temporary catalog is only partially subjected, however for a large number of catalog cards neither subject heading nor necessary bibliographical information were added.

On the left side of photographic catalog card there is a photocopy of front page of a print.
Six numbers in top right corner of photographed card create current call number of print.
Title subject heading is noun grammatically superior, i.e. subject of title.

E.g.
For the title: ”Von der Jesuiten Geheimsten Sachen Kurtze Relation ...” it will be noun:
"RELATION” – call number 308713

For the title: ”Erfurtische gelehrte Zeitung auf das Jahr 1782” it will be noun: ”ZEITUNG” – call number 521843 [in temporary photographic catalog it is not subjected, but card stands in right place in alphabetical order]

For the title: ”Thalami Camperi-Assigiani, Votiva Acclamatio ...” it will be noun: "ACCLAMATIO” – call number 533748

Additional notice
Usage of temporary photographic catalog, especially in parts, that do not yet have their own subject headings is difficult, because:
a) subject heading can be hidden in the content on photocopy and causes force laborious search,
b) publications of one author are often spread into few places, if there are different variations of author's name,
c) no holding numbers are given to multivolume or periodicals publications,
d) no visible distinguished between main and reference cards.
Moreover, some prints published anonymously, in case of cards without subject heading, are sorted alphabetical by title, even though name of author can be found.
