Cambridge Core Ebooks

Entrance to the base

The Cambridge Core Ebooks database contains books published by the world scientific publishing house Cambridge University Press and other partner publishing houses, including: Edinburgh University Press, Liverpool University Press, and the Royal Economic Society.

The database provides access to over 39,000 electronic books in the field of: humanities, natural sciences, exact sciences, engineering, mathematics, social sciences, law, economics, management, psychology.

EBA (Evidence Based Acquisition) is an e-book purchase model in which books for final purchase for the University are selected after annual access to the entire database, based on the statistics of their use.

We encourage you to submit your suggestions which books should be included in the Library's collections.

Applications can be sent throughout the year to sin.bu[w]uwr.edu.pl. The application should be consulted with the chairman of the scientific discipline council.

The database is updated throughout the calendar year and new publications are added every month. Books are purchased at the end of each calendar year.

During use of the database (before purchasing books that will become the property of UWr), users are entitled to:

  • reading,
  • copying,
  • printing chapters necessary for research or teaching.

The database will be available to the academic community of the University in the period from December 1, 2020 to December 31, 2023 from the internal network of the University of Wrocław and via a proxy server.

As part of the access, it is possible to download individual book chapters.

Access to databases is possible from all computers in the UWr network and through the PROXY server.
