Dear Sir or Madam,

Wroclaw University Library is the library with long traditions. As a successor of former University Library and Wroclaw City Library, which origins date back to the Renaissance and Baroque, the University Library has many unique historical collections. From its foundation, Library has served science and culture of city and region.
Collections of Wroclaw University Library represent rich history of Silesia region – region, where East meets the West, where for 1000 years coexisted Polish, Czech, German and Jewish nations, that left the only in its kind written heritage, universal and regional in character at the same time. Library collections from Wroclaw should serve uniting Europe, because they are – gathered in small area – living proof of its cultural variety.

During realization of its mission, Wroclaw University Library is developing its usable collections and takes care of scientific-didactical workshop for academic society, and – accordingly to its specialization profile – actively enlarges its Silesian collection and specially protects historical part of materials that are European, and even world, cultural heritage.

At present time, Library is preparing itself for conducting its duties in new library building that will provide better protection for collections, and for readers – more comfortable working conditions.

We are addressing to you our polite request concerning your pledge in form of donate for our endeavors in fields of:

We are also showing the readiness for receiving donations in forms of single volumes or whole collections, that could be passed or purchase for our Library.
