Signing up to the WUL and libraries at the University of Wrocław
Signing up to the Wroclaw University Library (WUL) and departmental libraries at the University of Wrocław (UoW) is conducted only online.
How to become a library user at the University of Wrocław?
If you are a student, PhD student or postgraduate student at the University of Wrocław,
you can sign up to any UoW library by logging into the library catalog. Your account will be automatically activated within minutes and will be valid for the whole duration of your studies. Your student's ID card will serve as your library card. With an active account, you can, within the entire UoW library and information system: borrow books, requesting items to the reading rooms, and use the collections in the WUL's Free Access area.
If you don't have a student's ID card, you must purchase a library card in the WUL's Local Lending Department. You will then have access to the collections only locally in the WUL's reading rooms and the Open Access areas. (Price list)

If you are a student, PhD student or postgraduate student of another public university in Wroclaw,
you can sign up to the University of Wrocław's libraries, using the registration form. Select the appropriate user group and choose your university from the list. If your university is on the list, you gain access: borrowing books form WUL, ordering materials for the reading rooms within UoW's library and information system, and using collections in the WUL's Free Access areas.
Your account will be activated in the WUL's Local Lending Department, upon presentation of your identification document, student's ID card, and obligation card. Your account will be valid until September 30th of each year. You can extend its validity annually, throughout your studies. Please note that you have a maximum of 30 days from your account's expiration date to renew it.
If your university is not on the list, select the option "None of the above, I want to purchase a temporary library card for WUL's reading rooms" in the registration form. You will then gain access to the collections only in the reading rooms and in the WUL's Free Access areas – based on a paid, temporary library card. (Price list)
Your student's ID card or the card you have purchased in the WUL’s Local Lending Department will serve as your library card.

If you are an employee of the University of Wrocław,
you can sign up to any UoW's library by logging into the library catalog. If you have an electronic employee's ID card, you can complete the remaining formalities during your first visit to any of the UoW's libraries. Your employee ID card will serve as your library card. With an active account, you can, within the entire UoW library and information system: borrow books, requesting items to the reading rooms, and use the collections in the WUL's Free Access area.
If you don't have an employee's ID card, visit the WUL's Local Lending Department to complete the data necessary to register. After presenting your identification document, you can purchase a library card. (Price list)
Your account will be valid until September 30th of each year. You can renew it throughout your employment at the University of Wrocław.

you can sign up to the University of Wrocław's libraries using the registration form. Select the appropriate user group and choose your university or institution from the list. If your university or institution is on the list, you gain access to: borrowing books, ordering materials for the reading rooms within UoW's library and information system, and using collections in the WUL's Free Access areas.
Your account will be activated in the WUL's Local Lending Department, upon presenting your identification document, proof of employment, confirmation of payment for a library card. (Price list)
Your account will be valid until September 30th of each year. You can renew it throughout your employment at the university or institution indicated in the enrolment form. Please note that you have a maximum of 30 days from the account expiration date to renew it.
If your university or institution is not on the list, select the option "None of the above, I want to purchase a temporary library card for WUL's reading rooms" in the registration form. You will then gain access to the collections only locally – in the WUL's reading rooms and in the Free Access areas.

If you are not affiliated with the University of Wrocław or any other public university in Wroclaw,
You can use the Wroclaw Iniversity Library's collections only locally – in the reading rooms and in the WUL's Free Access areas. To do this, you need a valid temporary library card.
Fill out the form by selecting the option: „None of the above, I want to purchase a temporary library card for WUL's reading rooms” and adjust the card's validity period to your needs. After submitting it, visit the WUL's Local Lending Department to activate your account and purchase the card. (Price list). You will need your identification document or passport (for foreigners).
Your account will be valid for the selected period (2, 10, or 365 days from the activation date). You can extend its validity for a fee. You have a maximum of 30 days from the account expiration date to extend it.
Temporary cards activated in the University Library allows only the use of the WUL's collections.
The following persons are entitled to use the general collections of the Wroclaw University Library: adults and minors from 16 years of age based on the written consent of their legal guardian.
