On Tuesday, December the 5th, official grand opening of Digital Library of Wroclaw University took place.

- The new service offered by the University gives Internet users access to digital copies of manuscripts, old prints, music scores, graphics and periodicals from collections of Wroclaw University Library – says Małgorzata Porada, spokeswomen of UoW.

One year after the beginning of the project, within Digital Library are held over 6.5 thousand items. This is one of the fastest growing digital libraries in Poland.

At present time, largest is the collection of digital copies of periodicals from first half of 20th century – over 5.800 volumes. There are also available copies of selected manuscripts (35 items), old prints (59 items), publications from graphic collection (260 items). From web page of Library necessary software for viewing collections could be downloaded.
