Opening of the Local Lending Department and the Main Reading Room in the Wroclaw University Library's building on F. Joliot-Curie 12 St.
We inform our Users, that on January 7th, 2020 the Local Lending Department, Interlibrary Lending Department and Main Reading Room will be opened in the University Library's building on F. Joliot-Curie 12 St.
1. The Local Lending Department (level 1)
Because of the planned implementation of the RFID system in the Wroclaw University Library and the gradual opening of the Free Access area for Users on two levels of the Library, the borrowing of library materials from January 7th, 2020 (until the full commissioning of the Free Access area) will be organized according to the following rules:
books intended for the Free Access with a blue sticker will be lent for 1 month without the option of their prolongation and reservations by Users (this rule applies to all groups of the WUL's users: UoW students, UoW employees, students of other Wroclaw universities, employees of other Wroclaw universities),
other books intended for lending outside the Library (published after 1951) will be lent in accordance with the Rules of collection circulation in Wroclaw University Library without the option of remote prolongation by Users,
books intended for the Free Access with a pink sticker and other publications qualified to use only locally (published today and dating back to 1950 at the latest) will be available for Users in the Main Reading Room at level 3.
Planned opening hours of the Local Lending Department for Users:
Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Attention: Option for ordering library materials from the computer catalog and digitized catalogs of the Wroclaw University Library will be activated on January 7th, 2020 at 8:00 a.m. We also inform our Users that from January 7th, statutory penalties for overdue return of the library materials will be charged again.
2. The Interlibrary Lending Department (level 1) - the re-launch of borrowing of library materials from the WUL's general collections for users of other libraries will take place on January 7th, 2020. The Interlibrary Lending Department is borrowing library materials from other libraries for employees and students of the University of Wrocław all the time. These materials can be used in the Main Reading Room (level 3).
Planned opening hours of the Interlibrary Lending Department for Users:
Monday from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Tuesday - Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
3. The Main Reading Room (level 3) - Reading Room will be open for Users on January 7th, 2020. The reference collection of the Main Reading Room will eventually be reorganized, as the Library is abandoning the subject divisions of the reference collections. The Reading Room will contain 2 divisions from the Free Access, i.e. division A - General works, division Z - Book science, library science (collections from the A and Z divisions from the Free Access will be set up in the Main Reading Room during 2020). The entire collection of the National Library publications will be placed on separate shelves. Other library materials can be ordered from the main WUL's storages and used locally.
Planned opening hours of the Main Reading Room for Users:
Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Attention: We inform our Users that because of the implementation of the RFID system in the Wroclaw University Library, the opening of the Main Reading Room on Sundays and the extension of the opening hours during the week-days to 8:00 p.m. will be possible only from the academic year 2020/2021.
